Sustainability is strategically anchored at Müller Packaging and is consciously pursued and actively practised in day-to-day business. Müller Packaging's long-standing commitment to environmental protection, occupational safety and respect for human rights was recognised with a silver medal from Ecovadis in April 2024.

Conical open head drums are lightweight, stackable and therefore save on transportation and storage costs when empty. Like the entire Müller Packaging range, they are UN-approved and available in various designs.

The fibre drums produced by Müller Packaging in Münchenstein are UN-approved and can be flexibly adapted to customer-specific requirements by means of coatings and special designs.

Müller Packaging customers benefit from a very wide range of steel drums. They nevertheless regularly come up with special requirements requiring an "upgrade" of existing containers or even a completely new development. These challenges can be taken up in an uncomplicated and efficient manner by Müller Packaging's own design department, together with the own tooling department and the internal UN type examination section.

This success story fits in with Labor Day: Lorenz Spuler retired at the end of April 2023 after 35 years with the company. He started at Müller Packaging as a technical employee and ended his career as Head of Quality Management and member of the Executive Board. His heart beat for the quality of Müller drums, his commitment was extraordinary and tireless.

Müller Packaging is known worldwide as a quality leader in the production of industrial packages out of mild steel. What is less known is that the whole mild steel containers range can also be produced in stainless steel – and also UN type-tested.

Ackermann Fahrzeugbau AG has developed a special trailer for Müller AG Verpackungen which can transport up to 30 percent more drums thanks to additional volume. The efficiency pays off, as it reduces the number of journeys and saves CO2.

On June 18, 2022, Müller AG Verpackungen in Münchenstein opened its doors to customers, business partners, family members and the general public. Around 3,000 visitors found their way to Tramstrasse - despite extraordinary heat that reached a blistering 36 degrees. The mood was exuberant. The guests were satisfied, also because of the catering of Eiche Metzgerei, Basel, which left nothing to be desired.

Müller Packaging and neighboring company Stahl Reiden have put a new TERBERG/ZAGRO RR282 rail vehicle into operation in Reiden, Lucerne, for their plant transport operations.

In January 2021, Müller Packaging received its new certificate from the Energy Agency for Industry (EnAW). It certifies that the company is committed to sustainable climate protection out of conviction.

The industrial states have various approaches to climate protection. In Switzerland, the CO2 law is considered the core of the climate policy. It defines emission targets, also for the economy. The Confederation founded the Energie-Agentur der Wirtschaft (Energy Agency for the Economy) in 2001 to implement this law. Müller Packaging is cooperating with this Agency on a voluntary basis. The individually defined targets are binding.
