For the series «Unternehmergespräche» of the Basler Zeitung, which primarily examines the effects of the Covid 19 pandemic on Swiss SMEs, business journalist Felix Erbacher spoke with Roland Tanner, Managing Director of Müller Packaging. At the Annual General Meeting of the Müller Group (MVM Pack-Holding AG), which took place in Münchenstein on June 25, 2020, Dr. Fabrice Monti di Sopra was elected to the Board of Directors. The family-run company is thus strengthening the external expertise on the Board.

The Covid19 pandemic has severely restricted the public life and the economy throughout the world. The Swiss Federal Government attested Müller Packaging's systematic relevance. Concretely, this means that the Swiss Bundesamt für wirtschaftliche Landesversorgung BWL (Federal Office for National Economic Supply) is interested in keeping Müller Packaging's activities running – even if further more stringent measures were to be taken because of the pandemic.
As in previous years, the companies of the Müller Group supported the family strengthening project of SOS Kinderdorf in Eastern Europe.
Müller Packaging customers benefit from a very wide range of steel drums. They nevertheless regularly come up with special requirements requiring an "upgrade" of existing containers or even a completely new development. These challenges can be taken up in an uncomplicated and efficient manner by Müller Packaging's own design department, together with the own tooling department and the internal UN type examination section.
Müller Packaging is known worldwide as a quality leader in the production of industrial packages out of mild steel. What is less known is that the whole mild steel containers range can also be produced in stainless steel – and also UN type-tested.
The Board of Directors of MVM Pack-Holding AG (Müller Group) named Christian Reinau as new CEO with effect from April 1st. He takes over the strategic management of all five Müller Companies from Peter Müller who held this position from 2006 to March 2019.
The industrial states have various approaches to climate protection. In Switzerland, the CO2 law is considered the core of the climate policy. It defines emission targets, also for the economy. The Confederation founded the Energie-Agentur der Wirtschaft (Energy Agency for the Economy) in 2001 to implement this law. Müller Packaging is cooperating with this Agency on a voluntary basis. The individually defined targets are binding.
