Ecovadis silver medal for outstanding sustainability management
Müller Packaging
Sustainability is strategically anchored at Müller Packaging and is consciously pursued and actively practised in day-to-day business. There are various reasons for Müller Packaging to subject its sustainability management to a regular review. With regard to the EU, these include the Supply Chain Act and EU legislation in general. However, it is primarily the owner family and customers who are increasingly demanding sustainability and who increasingly want to be informed about implemented sustainability measures.
Ecovadis offers a platform on which companies can obtain an assessment of their sustainability performance and compare themselves with other companies. The global provider of sustainability ratings has developed a standardised procedure for checking, evaluating and comparing the sustainability performance of companies based on various criteria. The corresponding awards, which are presented in the form of medals, can be shared with business partners and customers.
Over 130,000 companies have already received ratings from Ecovadis and more than 1,000 global purchasing organisations work with Ecovadis to assess and improve the sustainability performance of their suppliers. Müller Packaging's long-standing commitment to environmental protection, occupational safety and respect for human rights was recognised by Ecovadis with a silver medal in April 2024.
"The score we achieved puts us in the top 10 per cent of all companies assessed. Many thanks to the entire team for supporting these important values and maintaining our top quality!"
Thomas Jaeger, Head of Marketing & Sales, Müller Packaging
The two publications "Sustainable for generations" and "Dangerous goods packaging, prudently and carefully produced" show which sustainability goals Müller Packaging is pursuing and which measures the company has already implemented. The first measures were implemented back in the 1990s, and since 2013 Müller Packaging has voluntarily committed to climate protection and energy efficiency, which it has consistently pursued through its collaboration with the Energy Agency for Industry (EnAW).
